[Insert Title Here]

Yeah, yeah, not exactly an original title, but I'm feeling slow and tired today, so from now on when I can't think up a title, that's what I'm gonna put.

I just wanted to update, since it's been a week since my last post. I've had homework and stuff, so yeah....... I know, I know, a stupid excuse, but as I said before, I'm slow today, so deal.
Urgh..... things have been kinda hard for me lately. The dramas of a 12 year old 7th grader are so emotionally draining. I can't post all of it on my blog, for obvious reasons, but I just wanted to get that out, since that's really the point of this blog.
Also-- I've been asking around to my friends, but I figure I may as well put it here, too--- how do you stop a rumor that's being spread, even if the rumor may or may not be true?
Drop a line, whoever knows the answer to this. Much appreciated.

Oh, Wells

So, today was kinda on-and-off. Meaning, there were good moments, and there were bad moments.

Bad Moment Number 1: I didn't make the cheerleading squad. Whatever. *shrugs* I didn't really want to anyway, and I didn't really expect to make the cut. At least I made callbacks though, which is more than a lot of girls can say.
Bad Moment Number 2: Our class found out today that we have a quiz/test on Monday. And we got a long review sheet that we have to do for homework.
Bad Moment Number 3: I only got a 93% on my math test. That's a lot better than most of the class, but still, for me, anything below a 96% isn't good enough. At least we get a couple extra points for test corrections.
Good Moment Number 1: Science class was waaaaaay funny. Besides the quiz/test news, it was really easy because we switched teachers for a little last week and the teacher from the other cohort is teaching us now. The kids at my table are really funny so it's pretty cool.
Good Moment Number 2: Today Chanel and I sat at another table with our friends in 702, which I haven't done in a while, and it was really fun!
Good Moment Number 3: Maura came back from D.C. last night!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!! We missed you Maura!!!!!!!
In the Middle Moments: I confessed something to Chanel today that I haven't told anyone else....... no, don't ask, since I'm most likely not going to tell you. This was an In the Middle Moment, as I don't have any clue which way it will go.
That's all for now, I guess. See you guys later!

Prediction Coming True.............?

As you see from the title, there is a possibility that my prediction might be coming true!!!!!
For those of you who don't know/forgot, my prediction was that this year, the year of 2009, something different was going to happen. I think that prediction may be coming true!!!!!! So many things have happened already that I never would have guessed 1 year ago.

First, I'm sorta-kinda-maybe-possibly friends with someone I've hated for years.
Then, I tried out for cheerleading, which is something I never thought I'd do. I even made callbacks!!!!! I can't believe it!!!!! Callbacks are tomorrow after school, so wish me luck, y'all!!!!
Also, I've made friends with someone over the internet *coughcough* *rae* *coughcough* True, I had started emailing her before the New Year, but still!!!! I've also made tons of more friends through her, which I think is really awesome.
I've made a lot of more friends at school, too.
I don't think the changes are over, though. I think this is just the begining.............

An Inspiring Sermon

I came back from church about an hour ago, and I decided to post a little about one of the priests in my parish. His name is Father Robert Keighron. Maybe it's weird that I'm posting about a priest, but whatever. He's only about 28 years old, but he preaches like a man with experience. He talks kind of fast, but it actually makes you want to listen even more. He speaks with confidence in himself and his faith. He just sounds so lively. Usually in mass I find myself looking at the clock time and time again, but then again, I haven't been going to the masses he serves for a bit.
His sermons...... they make me want to be a better christian. A better person. I wish there were more people like this in the world. People who encourage others to do better. *Sighs* Whether that sigh was out of admiration for Father Rob, or my wish for a better world, I'm still not sure. Take it how you will.

Upcoming Stuff (in and out of school)

Hi everybody! It's me (dur)

I just wanted to post to let you people know about stuff that's coming up for me inside and out of school:
  1. I tried out for the cheerleading squad. Yeah, yeah, I know it's weird, seeing as I'm klutzy and uncoordinated, but I wanted to try out anyway. The results for who made it will be posted at my school on either Tuesday or Wednesday, but I know I didn't make it. Oh, wells.
  2. The Inauguration of President Elect Barack Obama is Tuesday!!!!!!! Yayness!!!!!!! The only thing is that my principal is prejudiced against 7th and 8th graders, so we have to watch the recording of it after it's over in the auditorium during Extended Day, which stinks since Debate is one of my favorite classes and I rank #3 in a class of about 30. Of course, the 6th, 9th and 10th graders get to watch it live. The jerks.
  3. The New York State Standardized English Language Arts (ELA) test is this Wednesday and Thursday. The whole thing is pointless for me, but of course I'm taking it anyway. I hate that test with a passion.
  4. I know I haven't posted Chapter 2 of my PJATO Fanfic yet, but I've been pretty busy. I'll try to get it up sometime this week.
And...... that's about it. One thing I've learned from this post? If you type with cold hands, you're going to make a lot of typos.

The Evening of December 16th, 1773...

I wrap my arms around myself, shivering in the chilly December weather. My thin shirt and breeches

do nothing to aid the shudders that rack through my body as the harsh winds cut straight to my bones.
A light flurry settled around me. The stars, though nearly invisible in the snowfall, twinkled brightly,
as if shining especially for me and all others like me, those who believed in liberty and equality. They
would be my guide tonight.

Okay, for those of you wondering what in the HECK that was, allow me to explain: In English class,
we're learning about the American Revolution, and on Friday, we had to do this thing where we answered
one of the questions our teacher put on the board. One question was, "Describe the setting on the evening
of December 16th, 1773. For those of you who don't know, that was the night of the Boston Tea Party.
So, obviously, I chose that question. I read it out in front of the class, and some of my friends said it was
really good. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but I decided to put it up here anyway. I
have a story formulating in my mind based on this. Let me know if you liked this little thingy, and if
you think I should continue the story.

Chopsticks and Competition

Yes, this is a post on chopsticks and competition, in case you couldn't guess by the title. But not the chopsticks you eat with, I'm talking about the game chopsticks. Yes, clearly I was feeling borededededededededed and random when I wrote this.

For those of you that don't know, chopsticks is a game played with your hands. It's a two-on-two game. each person sticks out both index fingers. they take turns hitting each other's fingers, thus adding fingers to the opposing player. For example, if I have 3 fingers on my left hand and you have 1 finger on your right hand and your right hand hits my left hand, I would then have 4 fingers. Get it? If you get 5 fingers on a hand, that hand is out. When both of your hands are out, you lose. There are more complications, but I really don't feel like going into them right now.
Anyway, there are these two guys at my school that are obsessed with this game, but haven't played each other yet as far as I know. For the sake of privacy, let's call them "Sebastian" and "James", okay?
So, James and I were playing chopsticks, and he beat me three times in a row. I said, "Wow, you're really good." Knowing Sebastian was good at this game, I added, "You should play Sebastian to see who's better. I would definitely like to see that."
Being as conceited as he is, James replied, "Sebastian? I would kick his butt."
That day on the bus I told Sebastian, "James says he could kick your butt in chopsticks."
Sebastian, being equally conceited, said, "James? I could kick his butt period.
The next day I passed that on to James. His reply was, "Sebastian is such a BEEP." (I refuse to spell out dirty language on my blog.)
Of course, I repeated this back to Sebastian again later that day in the auditorium as we waited for our bus to come. As you can imagine, he wasn't very pleased. His response was, "He called me a BEEP?! Where is that little BEEP? I am gonna BEEP BEEP BEEP." (The guys at my school have quite colorful language, huh?)
And how do you think they were going to settle this? Chopsticks! They didn't get to play long enough to declare a winner, though, as a teacher made them sit down with the rest of the kids on their buses. (James is on one bus, Sebastian and I on another) Most likely they're going to play at another time when there aren't as many teachers around.

If you have bothered to read this far into the post, I applaud you. Yes, there is a meaning for that story.
The meaning is that competition can come from anywhere, even an indirect source. What had sparked competitiveness between two guys who hadn't had anything against each other a day ago was something neither of them had been aware of. How is it that two people who neither love nor hate each other one day, can be at each other's throat's the next, even when neither of them know where it originated, or who had brought on and nurtured the competitiveness? (In this case, evil 'lil me)
Maybe it has something to do with testosterone? Or maybe the human desire for competition, to be the best at a certain thing? This is something to think about, hm?
I'll get back to you on this, if I happen to find out more, or if I actually remember.
Adios, mi amigos.

Awesomely Random

Okay, I wanted to do a post before school starts again, but not much has happened that's worth posting, so I decided that, since there's school tomorrow, I might as well do something awesomely random to keep our spirits up.

Awesomely Random Quotes:
"If a kiss was a raindrop, I sent you a shower.
If a hug was a second, I'd send you an hour.
If a smile was water, I'd send you the sea.
If you needed love, I'd send you me."

"We come to love not be finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly."

"When love is not madness, it is not love."

"No one will win the battle of the sexes, there is too much flirting with the enemy."

"There are no stupid questions, just stupid people."

"All things considered, insanity may be the only reasonable alternative."

"Don't knock on Death's Door. Ring the bell and run. He hates that."

"Always forgive your enemies-- nothing annoys them so much."

"A loser is a window washer on the 44th floor who steps back to admire his work."

"Oops, I appear to have fallen on your lips."

Awesomely Random Pics: (I found them on Xingu's blog: Something To Think About)

Happy New Year!

Hi, everybody!!! I'm back from upstate! It was scary, life-scarring and psychotic, but other then that is was fun. I'm still laughing over the image of Nikki falling on her butt trying to ski. lol.

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy (belated) new year. I don't know why, but I feel like this year, something's going to happen. Something... different. I'm not sure if it means something good or bad, maybe it's a bit of both, but something is definitely going to happen this year, I can feel it. I'm no psychic, but I just have a feeling about this.
Let's see what happens.
